LOUISE MAI NEWBERRY
I am an actress from a diverse background with an eclectic CV.
Anglo-East Asian, based in London, educated at Cambridge University and trained at East 15 Acting School, I work in theatre, TV, voiceover, corporate training and more recently stand-up comedy as Precious Jade.
My work is diverse in its scope: new writing development, classical theatre, movement and physical theatre and children’s theatre.
I have been lucky enough to have worked at some of the UK’s foremost theatres including the RSC, Bristol Old Vic, Birmingham Rep, Leicester Haymarket, the Orange Tree and with some of the most innovative companies including Walk The Plank, Teatro Vivo and Tall Stories. My adventures in acting have taken me on tours of the USA, to all the No.1 venues in Ireland with the sell-out show ‘The Gruffalo’ and I’ve even spent 6 months touring the ports of the British Isles on the UK’s only theatre ship.
With my background in and love of English literature, I particularly enjoy working on new writing and am a member of the Finborough Theatre’s New Writing Development Ensemble. I’ve workshopped and performed in rehearsed readings of new plays for the Soho Theatre, BAC, Yellow Earth, ICA, Lyric Hammersmith, Kali and Silent Shout.
