Lightbox Theatre (Link)
Following my work on the development piece BATTERSEA STORIES in November 2014 I was delighted to be cast in the ensemble of the full site-specific production of BATTERSEA ODYSSEY for Lightbox Theatre and directed by Jo Turner. I play Carly who runs the caff on the corner of York Road in Battersea and tells the audience about the neighbourhood spirit and what Battersea was like in the 80’s before gentrification. I also doubled as Emma a yummy mummy who is new to the area, having moved there because of the easy commute to her job at Google in Victoria. The production worked its way around the Katherine Low Settlement (inside and outside) and took in the different groups that are resident there as well as various different local sights. The piece used verbatim material gathered and edited by Emma Faulkner. It was extraordinary to be visited by our ‘real life’ selves!
